Sometimes a tooth needs to be extracted if it is grossly decayed (rotten), if the orthodontist has requested this or if it is impacted like many wisdom teeth can become during adolescence.

Most teeth can be extracted under local anaesthesia, unless they present extreme difficulty or there is a concern for the patient’s general health. All extractions under general anaesthetic (with the patient asleep) will be performed off site.
